Family Movies

These are family movies that probably are only be of interest to family and friends. They aren't necessarily in order of when they were recorded but the latest added is always at the top of the page.

I've started a blog and you'll find it here!

The date was Monday 29th October, 2007 and Abby took her first tentative steps.

Here's Jake playing on the slide with Abby watching. Jake has only just started to play on the slide properly and because of his autism we see this as good progress. This video was recorded on 29th September 2007 and uploaded on 2nd October 2007.

Jake was recently identified as being autistic so with professional guidence we are teaching him the PEC's. ie Picture Exchange Communication system. The idea is that Jake uses photo's or pictures to tell us what he wants. The first step is to have Jake hand us the appropriate picture in return for an item being given to him. He's doing very well and in this video he's being offered cucumber. The video was taken 20th July 2007 and uploaded the same day.

Ruth was playing with Abby and she was rewarded with a big dollop of drool! This video was taken during the early part of June 2007 and uploaded on 11th June 2007.

Jake has learnt how to balance himself on the swing now and he clearly enjoys it. This video was taken during the early part of June 2007 and uploaded on 11th June 2007

A movie of Jake mastering the slide even if the landing is a bit bumpy! The video was taken on 8th May 2007 and uploaded the same day.

Here's a movie of Abby in her Baby Bouncer. She seems to be quite happy in here for a while and is quite a fan of the musical caterpiller. Video was taken on 17th March 2007 and uploaded the same day.

This clip was taken in August 2004 during a trip to Castle Hedingham, in Essex, England. Jake was around four and a half months and the similarity between Abby and Jake at similar ages can be seen.
Video taken August 2004 and added to website 22nd February 2007

Abby is beginning to stand up with a little bit of help from Mum. Video recorded 6th February 2007 and added to website 7th February

It's Sunday morning and Jake has just got up but likes the idea of being on the couch. The "farting" sound half way through is Abby being held by yours truly, not by yours truly himself!

Video recorded 4th February 2007 and added to website 4th February 2007

Here's Jake spending a few minutes in the snow. Sometimes when you're small even the smallest drift of snow can slow your progress!
Video recorded on 3rd February 2007 and added to website 3rd February 2007.

Abby is in quite a thoughtful mood and a little bit vocal too.
Video recorded 25th January 2007 and added to website 25th January 2007.

Video recorded 20th January 2007, added to website 20th January 2007.

I was attempting get a smile from Abby who had just started to offer them when she was in the mood. It sounds more like I was calling the cat!

Jake was tired and ready for bed. He didn't know quite what to do with himself!

Here's Jake enjoying a banana. This was taken in October 2006

We're teaching Jake to use a spoon and gradually he's mastering it.
